1 – We are 100% volunteers. We strive to be 100% professional.
For the community by the community. We empower ordinary citizens
with knowledge and skill. Our members operate under the constant
and watchful guidance of professionals and veterans in the firefighting,
medical, rescue and incident command disciplines.
2 – CERS is a registered NPC with CIPC, and registered NPO with the
Department of Social Works
We self-fund where we can but are heavily dependent on our
community and our sponsors. We use what we have.
3- Our members operate under the constant and watchful guidance of
professionals and veterans in the firefighting, medical, rescue and
incident command disciplines.
4 – We support and help where we can – augmentation of local
emergency services and where such services are not available – we
step in and make it happen.
Why would you leave the comfort of your own home to help someone else? Because we can, because we want to, because it is a calling, because it is the right thing to do, because our community needs our help. Whatever the reason…the cold and hard facts speak for itself and that is; if we do not – who will?
